CYSTIC FIBROSIS FOUNDATION (CFF)

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has been the official philanthropy of the Sorority since 1958, and aims to support research to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for the 30,000 children and young adults with this disease.Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-threatening genetic disease that mainly affects the lungs and digestive system. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is a nonprofit, donor-supported organization. The Foundation funds research and works to provide access to specialized care and effective treatments for people with CF.

Delta Phi Epsilon helps to contribute to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation by holding a male pageant in the fall called Deepher Dude. Gentlemen from other organizations, both Greek and non-Greek groups, participate in different rounds, including spirit wear, formal attire, a talent portion, and DPhiE trivia. Our 2016 Deepher Dude was Daniel Valinotti from Tau Delta Phi. Proceeds are donated to CFF. DPhiE also co-hosts a Salsa Night in the Campus Center Pub every fall and spring, where there is music, dancing, food, and raffles. Salsa night is free, but donations can be made at the door or at tabling. Additionally, the sorority will have a Pie-A-Deepher event, where students on campus can donate to CFF and get the chance to throw a pie at one of the sisters.

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF ANOREXIA NERVOSA AND ASSOCIATED DISORDERS (ANAD)

For many individuals with eating disorders, eating, food and weight control become obsessions. This association is non profit organization that seeks to alleviate the issues of eating disorders. Its methods include education, newsletters, counseling, self-help groups, and providing funds for research. ANAD supports the development of healthy bodies and behaviors. Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD) has been an additional recipient of our fundraising efforts.

Delta Phi Epsilon helps to promote healthy bodies and mindsets through several events like ANAD Week and ANAD Dinner in the Spring. During ANAD Week, the sorority has an information table in the campus center, raising awareness of eating disorders through trivia games and activities like, "Trash your insecurities." There is also ANAD Dinner, where organizations and individuals are invited to participate in promoting awareness and prevention of eating disorders. ANAD Dinner is usually held in the Campus Center Ballroom, where there is food, raffle baskets, and a donation table.
