P.E.A.R.L PROGRAM

Delta Phi Epsilon embraces women through our Founding Principles of justice, sisterhood, and love. As an organization we have identified five areas of development and personal growth among members, which cultivate well rounded and balanced women: Sisterhood, Scholarship, Self, Service, and Social. Through our Pearl program, we participate in events centered around these five areas to better ourselves, our sisterhood, and our community.

Every active undergraduate member of DPhiE participates in the program as part of membership development. Events are planned by DPhiE in order to help our women grow as well rounded individuals. In addition to the 5 S's, each sister sets a personal goal for the year called a Personal Development Pearl. We are passionate about the Pearl Program and find it truely does help each sister grow, learn, and have fun.

Sisterhood

Delta Phi Epsilon was founded with the purpose of creating a true feeling of sisterly love amongst a group of women. This is something the sisters of Delta Phi Epsilon pride themselves on. Individual sisters learn the skills to manage the affairs of the chapter and lead their fellow sisters All members become knowledgable of the way in which the sorority operates and what the epectations are of al members. A strong sorority spirit starts with a network of active and alumi members, a support system between sisters, and knowing you have made friends that will last a lifetime. Each semester we organize sisterhood events which allow us to deepen our bonds between members.

Service

Delta Phi Epsilon aims to develop women who will be contributing members of society. Sisters are exposed to relevant societal issues and provided the opportunity to make a positive impact within as well as outside the sorority. They have the chance to become aware of important issues, discover ways to be more involved on campus, and to participate in community service and philanthropic projects. Service is a key value of Delta Phi Epsilon and we support our philanthropies, ANAD, CFC, and the Delta Phi Epsilon Education Foundation, through official philanthropy events, as well as our own independent organizations. We host many events such as Pie-a Deepher and Deepher Dude to raise money that goes directly to our philanthropies. More information about our philanthropies can be found on it's own dedicated page here.

Self

Our organization encourages all of its members to always be their true selves. We pride ourselves on being driven and successful women, and always focusing on bettering ourselves through this program. Self expression is an important part of our sorority. This is reflected in our motto "Esse Quam Videri" meaning "To be rather than to seem to be" which embodies the authentic nature of the women who make up Delta Phi Epsilon. Our sisterhood also understands the importance of physical, emotional, and personal development. DPhiE is committed to promoting positive self-awareness and providing opportunities for self-discovery. As a sister of DPhiE, girls develop individual strength, establish a personal set of values, and clarify their purpose as a woman. Each year our sisters set individual goals for themselves that they will try to fulfill by the end of their school year.

Scholarship

We try to excel in all aspects of development, however as part of the New Jersey Institute of Technology, scholarship is of the most important aspects of our organization. The Beta Eta Chapter of Delta Phi Epsilon prides themselves on the academic acheivements our sisters have earned. Our capter boasts the highest number of members in the Honors College at NJIT as well as having the highest ranking cumulative GPA's in our campus's greek community.

Social

Communication, networking, and expansion of social networks provides sisters with the opportunities to enhance their leadership and social skills, as well as the ability to work with and relate to others in various situations. We foster this growth through scheduled events within our campus, community outreach, and participation in school-wide events. In addition we encourage our members to engage in other organizations throughout campus to meet new people and become leaders througout campus.
